Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023<\/strong>, from 18 November 2025<\/strong>, all company directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSC) of UK-registered companies must verify their identity<\/strong> with Companies House.<\/p>\n

This requirement applies to all companies, directors, and PSCs \u2013 whether they are based inside or outside the UK.<\/p>\n

\n

When must verification be completed?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • \n

    No later than the date of your company\u2019s next Confirmation Statement.<\/strong>
    Example: If your next deadline is 31 March 2026, all directors and PSCs must complete their identity verification by that date.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    For newly appointed directors or PSCs<\/strong> \u2013 within 14 days<\/strong> of the appointment being registered.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    How can you verify your identity?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. \n

      Online via the GOV.UK One Login service<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        At the end of the online process, you will receive a unique personal code<\/em>, which must be kept secure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Through an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP)<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          For example, an accountant or solicitor can complete the process on your behalf.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Our firm is an authorised ACSP and can arrange verification for you if required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Why is this important?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

            Without identity verification for all directors and PSCs, your company will not be able to file its Confirmation Statement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
